Degrees: B.S. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey; M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Louisville; Ph.D. in Computer and Information Science and Engineering from the University of Florida.

Seniha Esen Yuksel has been at the University of Florida since 2006. As a postdoctoral researcher of materials science and engineering, Seniha is developing pattern recognition software for explosive detection. When she’s not researching, she enjoys tennis, reading, Salsa dancing, traveling and cycling. She is also active in introducing girls to computer science. After completing her postdoctoral research, Seniha hopes to become a university faculty member.
