UF’s Off Campus Life (OCL) Office provides the following resources to students that Postdocs may also find helpful in their housing searches:

Housing Locator: This website service allows you to search for housing off campus including apartments, houses and condos for rent or sublease in Gainesville.  The housing locator also allows you to search for roommates and post subleases for rent.  http://housing.offcampus.ufl.edu

Gator Guide: The is OCL’s annual publication and provides everything you need to know about living off-campus in the Gainesville community.  Gator Guide content is available through the OCL website http://www.offcampus.ufl.edu/gator_guide.     

Individual Appointments: OCL staff provide one on one appointments to help assist you with your off-campus housing search or with any issues or questions you might have while living in the Gainesville community. To set up an appointment complete the online appointment request form http://www.offcampus.ufl.edu/appointments/ and an OCL staff member will contact you to set up an appointment. House for Rent (12 month lease, available October 2 2021, $2000/month)

Lovely home for rent in one of Gainesville's nicest northwest neighborhoods -- The Valley. Details:

The home is available starting October 2, 2021. Rent is $2000 per month with the first, last, and security deposit due on signing lease. A minimum 12-month lease is required. Tenants pay all utilities and are responsible for yard work.

Washer and dryer hookups are available on site, but tenants must bring their own to use (there is a possibility that the tenants who are leaving will sell their set; please inquire if interested). Pets are negotiable with an additional deposit.

Twenty-four hours minimum notice is required to set up a viewing. Due to Covid-19, face masks are required to enter and view the house. The current tenants are UF faculty and have rented the home for the last three years. They would love to pass it off to other members of the UF community. This beautiful fully-furnished first story home overlooks the gardens of the Thomas Center, in the peaceful, historic Duckpond neighborhood just a 5-10 minute walk from downtown Gainesville. A large porch provides the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee or a glass of wine, while the light, airy living area offers a pleasant, air-conditioned space. Two generously sized bedrooms are accompanied by a spacious hallway bathroom and large living & dining areas with a chef's kitchen. There is wifi throughout, so work can be done from a desk, couch, or on the porch.

The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful, surrounded by huge live oaks and the oldest and most distinguished homes in town. In fact, the home just south of ours was built by UF's first president and he was rumored to have given speeches from the second floor balcony that overlooks Roper Park. Though our neighborhood is very quiet with no traffic noise or loud neighbors, just two blocks west is Main Street and five blocks south is University Avenue and the heart of downtown Gainesville. It's incredibly easy to walk (5 minutes) or bike (2 minutes) downtown. UF campus is a 4-7 minute drive away (depending on if you get red lights or green) or a quick 10-15 minute bike ride (whether your pace is quick or leisurely). And, as mentioned above, it's a quick 6-10 minute drive to/from the Gainesville Airport.

There is a high efficiency central heat & air system as well as a full size washer & dryer on site. We ask that folks please not smoke anywhere inside or outside on the property. No pets, please.
