Dr. Brittany Hollister is the new Director of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs and Prestigious Awards as postdoctoral affairs at the University of Florida moves from its Provost’s Office into its Graduate School.

She is an alumna of Rollins College in Winter Park, Florida (Honors Bachelor of Arts in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, 2012) and Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee (Doctor of Philosophy in Human Genetics, 2017).

Her prior employment experience includes classroom teaching, student mentoring, in-depth research, two years as a National Institutes of Health postdoctoral fellow, and four years of academic coordination and management at the UF Genetics Institute.

Her educational background and work history thus have her well-acquainted with the ins and outs of higher education, along with an awareness of what challenges graduate students and postdoctoral researchers encounter in their pursuit of new ideas, insights, and innovations.
