AROUND CAMPUS

There are many options to navigate our 2,000 acre campus. The central part of campus is walkable, but some people prefer to ride a bicycle, electric scooter, or motorcycle/scooter. If traveling across campus, you can also consider using the RTS bus system.

If bringing a car or motorcycle/scooter to campus, you'll need to purchase a faculty/staff parking permit. Parking lots are designated by permit type(s) so make sure to only park in the appropriate lots for your permit. The purchase of a parking permit does not guarantee a parking space.

In an effort to promote sustainability and healthy living, UF has many resources available for bicycle commuters. Bike racks are available near campus buildings and self-service repair stations are located across campus. You can also register your bike for free with the UF Police Department.

UF partners with the city of Gainesville to provide free bus services to the UF community. RTS has several campus routes and city routes to get you where you want to go. Simply show your GatorONE ID to the bus driver. There's also a convenient app to find routes, track your bus, and more. Most RTS buses even have bike racks on the front so you can bring your bike with you.
