The office of Postdoctoral Affairs and Prestigious Awards strives to provide programs, services, and support for all at UF working to better the postdoc experience at the University of Florida, elevating scholarly excellence and cultivating an environment that promotes groundbreaking research at UF.

The office of Postdoctoral Affairs and Prestigious Awards supports, informs, and connects the postdoctoral community at the University of Florida, including faculty, staff, and administrators working on postdoc issues. Working with other campus units, the office ensures consistent postdoc policies and procedures related to appointments, benefits, international visa compliance, and employee relations. The office leads the development and implementation of postdoctoral policies and resolves complex postdoc-related concerns. 

The office provides professional development programming for postdocs, including orientation, mentoring initiatives, and career development workshops. Working closely with the Graduate School Professional Development area, coordinates programs such as GatorLead and Preparing Future Faculty.

The office also provides leadership and administrative support to the UF Postdoctoral Association (UFPDA)

Simultaneously, the office serves as the Graduate School’s lead coordinator for prestigious external and internal fellowships, guiding graduate student applicants through the process by leading application workshops, coordinating campus interviews, and offering strategic advising.
